Eco Village

This is the future

I think we are going to be hearing alot more about Eco Villages in the coming years.  As we increasingly come up against the folly of our culture we are going to awaken to the reality of living in semi-self sustaining groups of people.

Reference "Ishmael" & "Beyond Civilization" by Daniel Quinn.

Mankind evolved into living in supportive groups of people.  Our civilization has successfully divided and conquered us.  Alone we are totally dependent on the system to care for us.

The system has educated us and brainwashed us into this pattern of life and given us all kinds of plastic ga-ga's as pacifers.  Those of us who can fight our way through our own inner programming and rejoin a holistic group of friends can awaken to a place closer to the truth of life on Earth.

My next major project will be to facilitate a village of folks who want to take this leap out of the fire into the fire.  I am continuing to build my house in Sage Valley and that will be an intergal part of the overall plan.   Over a period of time I hope to have a series of connected families across the country.  Oasis of conciousness, each with a different taste and orientation according to the folks who inhabit them.  No master plan for the individuality that will express itself at each location.  Just establishing the space for that individuality to emerge.

Sage Valley will be the high desert home, demonstrating the skills to live and play in this enviornment.  The local zoning laws make it difficult to construct a close knit village model.  They require 20 acres per house.  We can have a wonderful community at Sage Valley where people are spread out a bit and integrate with the spaciousness of the surrounding desert mountains.  Sage Valley will bring its own special energy and healing to the larger family as our individual family groups start forming.

I have been researching several places in south central New York State for the first of these eco villages.  I envision the village to have a camprgound, a central area with apartments for rent, a place for gardening, individual and communal, a school, work spaces for self employment, a community center, and some kind of attention for the elderly.

I don't think I can manage this project by myself and I am looking for persons interested in supporting this at all levels.

The family will be set up using the energies of a medicine wheel as a model.  Different people having different energetic and physical roles until a complete unit is built that will function for the good of all, including the Earth.

Please contact me if this project speaks to you and together we will launch an Ark that will demonstrate Arkness to an Arkless world.

Our culture is involved in a process that can only be described as "rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic".  It is time for a few of us to return to a simpler lifestyle.

I expect to purchase a parcel of land in south central New York State in the spring of 2007.  This land will be in an area of no zoning.  This means that multiple housing units can be built on any parcel with the main limitation being the ability of the land to support septic systems.  All buildings must be built according to the uniform building codes.

I expect to start with a small campground and a garden.  I will offer a few weekend workshops based on gardening and other ceremonies.

I would like to build a series of 2 or 3 unit apartment buildings.  These buildings would be designed to flow into the form of a village over a period of time.  As long as people wanted to join the family I would keep building accomodations for them.  People could start out in the campground to get a feel for the family and the family could get to know them.

I expect to be back in Nevada in the fall of 2007 to do additional work there and possibly host a gathering of the Sage Valley Family.

Peace and Blessings
